Age/Brown Spots Treatment
What is LimeLight (IPL) Facial?
Have you ever wanted to lighten brown spots, repair sun damage, reduce skin redness, minimize pores and enjoy the freedom of not wearing makeup?
LimeLight (IPL) facial is a unique, non-ablative laser treatment that treats acne scars, rosacea, brown spots and sun damage. LimeLight is different from other IPL technologies because it uses three specific wavelengths that can be adjusted to target different skin conditions. The laser is able to seek out specific pigments in the skin such as acne scarring and dark spots and tighten pores for a clearer complexion.
What areas can be treated by LimeLight (IPL)?
LimeLight (IPL) facial is ideal for the face and décolleté. But other areas with unwanted redness, brown spots or telangiectasia (tiny veins) is suitable for this treatment too.
Will the spots and redness appear over time?
When the skin is exposed to the sun without proper protection, spots may reappear. These too can be treated with the LimeLight (IPL) facial. Remember to always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimize sun damage and prevent the appearance of new spots and diffuse redness.
What can I expect during my visit?
Clients will experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation like rubber band snapping when the treatment is being done. If the pain to too much, or you are particularly sensitive, we can apply a gel which helps to cool the skin. Anesthesia or pain medicine is not required.
You will experience redness immediately after the treatment but this should subside within a few hours. Between a few hours to a few days after the treatment, you will see the brown spots and age spots darken and flake off. This is only temporary and will reveal significantly lighter pigmentation after.
How many treatments are required for best results?
We recommend 1 to 3 treatments over the course of a few weeks. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.
What is the downtime?
There is no downtime. Any immediate effects can be covered using makeup.
