Dermaplaning
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation facial. A surgical scalpel is brushed gently across the face using light feathery strokes to remove dead skin cells, peach fuzz or vellus hair, oil, and dirt.
This treatment is ideal for people with sensitive skin or pregnant women because it doesn’t involve any acids or chemicals.
What are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning has many benefits that help you achieve a brighter complexion. By removing the top layer of the skin, your skin better absorbs your serums and moisturizers.
Immediately after the treatment you will have brighter and smoother skin. And with repeated treatments you will notice a reduction in the appearance of acne scars and fine lines.
What can I expect during my visit?
Dermaplaning is a relaxing treatment for most clients. The treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes.
2 weeks prior: Avoid any form of laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing or use of depilatory creams.
1 week prior: Avoid peels and discontinue the use of topical retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol and other potentially irritating products.
How many treatments are required for best results?
We recommend to come back every 3 to 4 weeks. After that time, you’ll notice that the peach fuzz or vellus hair will start growing back exactly the same colour and thickness as it was previously.
What is the downtime?
There is no downtime. We do recommend to avoid sun exposure and apply sunscreen to protect your skin after the treatment.
