Laser Vein Treatment
What is Laser Vein Treatment?
Laser Vein Treatment uses light energy pulses to heat unwanted veins and vessels so they become smaller or in some cases completely eliminated. The treatment is safe, effective and quick at treating a wide range of vessels from tiny spider veins to deep blue reticular veins. No matter what skin tone, the results will be outstanding.
Who can be treated with Laser Vein Treatment?
Due to the long wavelength and unique design of the laser, patients with light, dark or even tanned skin can be treated.
What types of veins can be treated?
Except for knotty varicose veins, the Laser Vein Treatment can remove veins from all parts of body. Small facial veins and larger leg veins and spider veins can be removed quickly with no complications or bruising.
Laser Vein Treatment has successfully treated clients with Port wine stains and blood blisters even those who had given up on finding a solution.
What can I expect during my visit?
There may be a stinging sensation during the treatment due to the delivery of energy pulses. Many patients use topical anaesthetic before the treatment to minimize any pain and discomfort. After the treatment, there will be no lingering pain.
Many patients find significant improvements within two to six weeks after the treatment. However, it might take several months before final results become apparent. New veins might appear over time, which can be treated with Laser Vein Treatment again.
How many treatments are required for best results?
One or two treatments are usually enough, but it depends on the colour, size and number of vessels to be treated.
What is the downtime?
There might be some redness or bruising immediately after the treatment but it is nothing serious. With the treatment of larger veins, a tan or brownish pigment may appear that may last for a few weeks or months.
You can go back to your normal activities right away but vigorous activities should be avoided for the first 24 hours. Exposure to sun should be limited and sunscreen should be used.
It’s recommended to wear support hose for a short period of time after leg vein treatments.
