Microneedling
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling uses a handheld device with tiny needles that pierce the outer layer of the skin. This micro-trauma to the skin triggers the creation of collagen which enhances skin rejuvenation. It is effective in tightening, lifting and firming the skin surface to reveal incredible results.
What areas can be treated with Microneedling?
Microneedling is primarily used on the face, neck and décolleté for skin rejuvenation. However, microneedling is also effective on the abdomen, arms, and thighs to treat stretch marks and other parts of the body to treat scarring.
What does Microneedling Treat?
- Fine lines
- Acne scars
- Mild burns
- Enlarged pores
- Stretch marks
What can I expect during my visit?
The skin is cleaned and then a topical numbing cream is applied before treatment begins to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. The handheld microneedling device is applied to the skin and the automatic vibrating function of the microneedling device increases the effectiveness of the treatment by increasing absorption of products.
How many treatments are required for best results?
Many patients report seeing results after the second treatment, but 3 treatments are usually recommended to see optimal benefits spaced 4 weeks apart.
After that, maintenance treatments are recommended every 12 to 18 months.
What is the downtime?
Following your treatment, you may experience some redness, which usually resolves itself in 12 to 24 hours.
