Dermaplaning is a manual exfoliation facial. A surgical scalpel is brushed gently across the face using light feathery strokes to remove dead skin cells, peach fuzz or vellus hair, oil, and dirt.

No, Dermaplaning will not make hair grow back thicker. The peach fuzz or vellus hair will grow back exactly the same colour and thickness as it was previously.

Does it hurt?

No, Dermaplaning does not hurt. Dermaplaning involves light feathery strokes and is relaxing for most clients!

How can I prepare for Dermaplaning?

Two weeks prior to dermaplaning, avoid any form of laser hair removal, electrolysis, waxing or use of depilatory creams.

One week prior to dermaplaning, avoid peels and discontinue the use of topical retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, benzoyl peroxide, retinol and other potentially irritating products.

Avoid sun exposure and apply sunscreen to protect your skin.

You may schedule your Botox or dermal filler after your dermaplaning session but not before as Botox and filler need time to settle.

How often can I get Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning can be repeated every 3 to 4 weeks.

Is Dermaplaning safe for pregnant women?

Yes, dermaplaning is safe during pregnancy. Dermaplaning uses manual exfoliation and doesn’t involve any acids or chemicals.
