Pearl Fractional Laser Resurfacing Treatment

About Cutera XEO Pearl Fractional & FAQ

Cutera XEO Pearl Fractional

Pearl Fractional is a non-invasive fractional laser treatment effective in improving the appearance of fine lines, brown spots, sun damage and uneven skin texture on patients with light to medium skin tones.

Patients have brighter and smoother complexions after just one treatment and experience less overall recovery time compared to other laser resurfacing treatments.

What does Fractional mean?

Fractional laser is a treatment that penetrates the dermis and exposes only a fraction of the skin in a pattern of tiny dots. With Pearl Fractional, laser pulses place tiny holes in the skin. Columns of damaged tissue are selectively removed, leaving surrounding skin intact.

The fractional laser’s ability to precisely target microscopic areas of the skin makes it uniquely effective in treating the delicate area around the eye and mouth.

Does Pearl Fractional hurt?

Most patients describe the treatment as a series of fast, hot pinches. A numbing cream is applied to the skin prior to treatment to alleviate most discomfort.

How many treatments do I need to see results?

Most patients see significant improvement after just one treatment.

What is the downtime?

Immediately after the treatment, the skin may feel hot and look sunburned but patients report little or no discomfort. During the first 5 days, patients should meticulously apply moisturizer and sunscreen and limit sun exposure or wear protective clothing. Patients may apply makeup five days after the facial laser treatment.

Many patients see improvement one week after treatment with maximum results visible in one to three months.

Any Side Effects?

Temporary side effects can include redness, swelling and light peeling or flaking as the new skin is revealed. This should clear up within 5 days.
